In a 5-6 quart slow cooker, add the beans, onion, carrots, celery, garlic, thyme, bay leaf, ham and chicken broth. Stir in the tomatoes, and salt and pepper to taste. Cook on HIGH for 5 hours or LOW for 8 hours or until beans are tender.
