Browning used the process extensively on guns made in ’68 and ’69 plus also a good many done in ’67 and ’70. The higher grades were affected more than the lower grades as they used the salt curing mostly on the good blanks. WebOct 12, 2024 · Briefly, the years were 1967 thru 1971. I collect Superlights, and have looked at more than I own, and I have never seen a Superlight with salt wood. Collectors that know more than I have said/written that long-tanged Superposed guns were not affected. Only short-tang Supers (and mostly the High-Grade guns).
